2017 All Ireland Senior Football Championship, Dublin's continued exploitation of its natural advantages

Fuck Corbally.

That’s a very one sided account though, Rock missed what three scoreable chances in the first half? They could easily have been leading at halftime.
I agree though Mayo are savage unlucky, it never breaks their way. 3rd final they lost by a point in the last 5 years, not including the replayed game. They’d great chances to win all of them.
But they didn’t.

Sorry pal I meant fuck Cork.

When that free hit the post and bounced straight into the hands of a Dub player I knew they were done —

That’s ok so, pal.

I missed a little bit of the Sunday Game as I had to step out for a while. Did the eye gouging incident merit any analysis? Or is it just Waterford hurlers that the Sunday Game panel focus on trying to get suspended.

It was a magnificent final. The current Mayo starting 15 are as good a team as there has ever been in Gaelic football.

@Fagan_ODowd is correct that taking off Andy Moran was a huge mistake.

Moran is nailed on for Footballer Of The Year.

There is a serious case to be made for reducing the game back to a maximum of 18 players as 21 favours Dublin far too much.

It would have helped if a Mayo lad had been awake to the possibility.

Was the 6 minutes injury time a bit much? Where did it come from exactly? Substitutions? Which in itself benefits the stronger bench, as they get an extra 6 minutes to run legs off their opposition if they haven’t got a similarly strong bench.

The small card/injury stoppage ate up a bit. Mayo are magnificent - a joy to watch. Keegan is a filthy cunt but you’d have him in your team all day. Was full sure Rock would miss that free given his previous efforts. A cracking game - draw prob fair result.

Sure Mayo Joe played nearly 9 minutes of it hoping Mayo might get a score. I think he blew it up out of boredom in the end.

This is clearly not true.

He wanted them to get one last chance for sure but the fucking Dubs wouldn’t give the ball. Bad form in fairness

Thats not exactly addressing my question about the 6 minutes, but I see what you were doing there.

TBF they had the ball until that sideline came out of nowhere.

Where would it even enter your head to rip your tracker out of your shirt to fire at the ball as a lad takes a free in the 76th minute, thats outside the galaxy, let alone the box.

Vaughan must be fair depressed today.

It is when talking about the starting 15. Not the wider squad. Dublin have beaten Mayo four times, all four times due to the quality of their substitutes.

Mayo probably would have won all four ties were Gaelic football a 15 man game.

But it obviously isn’t.

They had no inside forward on the field at that stage who was good enough to be even aware or react or get a score. Coen, Loftus, Drake? Any of these lads you’d put the ball in their hands to win a final for you? Was it Coen who kept taking ridiculous shots against Galway when they lost earlier this year?
