2018 All Ireland Senior Football Championship

Dublin won the right to play some of their games at a neutral venue.

Interesting that the GPA didn’t stick their beak in here, like they did in the newbridge fiasco. Further proof the GPA is on Dublins side, getting Mayo out, opening up the door for the 4 in a row even wider.

They’d want rain in one field and sun in the one beside it the bolloxes.

The Donegal boys enjoy travelling long distances to engage in a serious bout of cap doffing it seems.

Donegal have made awful fucking eejits out of themselves here. They actually voted for this. I didn’t take genius to workout whoever won Ulster would be playing Dublin in Croke Park in their first game in the Super 8’s.

That wasn’t the issue thhat they highlight. It was, as ‘any genius’ could have found out by reading, the fact that Dublin were allowed to designate the same ground as ‘home’ and ‘neutral’.

Dublin didn’t designate any ground as neutral. They designated Croke park as home.

They are clutching at straws, making a fucking show of themselves.

Classic Ulster what aboutery after a principled stand from Kildare and Leinster

Embarrassing stuff for Donegal and all the roasters on here who were wetting their knickers supporting them.

Safe in the knowledge that it was also their neutral venue. Cute hoors, they mugged off the culchies here. Sadly its another asterisk beside an All Ireland, but I’m sure they don’t mind.

Apologies, the wording was "eeking clarification on ‘how any county may use a ground as both neutral and a home venue.’ "

Donegal rightly sent packing.

The great trick is getting turkeys like Donegal to actually vote for this.

To be fair I think this will be a victory in the long run. It was never going to be changed this time, and I don’t believe that Bonner really wanted it to be, but the question will now be reviewed and subjected to change in the coming months.

Donegal still get a run out in Croker against Dublin which will give a lot of the young lads great experience and a good preparation for the remainder of the Super 8s and (hopefully) remainder of the Championship.

the other thing this brings in though, if it remains as that, is that Dublin potentially, as long as the can maintain their grip on the fiercely contested Leinster championship, will always have their toughest game against another provincial champion in Croke Park. The first round games between provincial champions is stated for Croke Park, so they will always have that game on the road in neutral Croke Park. Their designated home and away game then will be against a qualifier. great stuff.

Agreed. Thats why the 4 in a row in in the bag, but this will at least put a stop to the 5.

All plays into Coach Gavin’s plans. Lads will be even more determined now to prove a point and go for 4 and then 5.

So we’re having two Super 8 double-headers over that weekend now then is it?
