2018 All Ireland Senior Football Championship

Nothing is more certain than Galway beating Dublin in classic for the ages 0-4 to 1-0 and then not win another game of consequence for about two decades just to sicken Mayo.

McNamee named to start for Tyrone. Iā€™d have severe doubts about his fitness for this one. He took a heavy blow with Dublin and thereā€™s no point risking him if heā€™s not 100% considering there will be a semi final the following weekend if we progress on Sunday.

The only change to the 26 is Cassidy in for McNulty which looks to be a move preparing for the likelihood of McNamee not being fit.

Hopefully he will be fine and ready for Sunday as heā€™s looked back to form after an indifferent couple of years.

Bench looks strong for us and I think it will give us the edge over Donegal.

From that same Tommy Carr interview where he slags off Bressie, this little gem. Tommy Carr is a top-level football coach with a proven track record that everyone should respect:-

Carr also weighed in on the debate about football vs hurling.

Both All-Ireland semi finals last weekend were watched by 50,000+ people in Croke Park. Both went to extra time, with both being heralded as two of the greatest matches in the modern era.

Compare that to this weekendā€™s Super 8ā€™s finale, which sees Dublin take on Roscommon in a clash of two of Carrā€™s former counties - a dead rubber.

ā€œHow many systems of play did you see in the two hurling matches last weekend? No systems." said Carr.

ā€œIt was absolutely ā€˜get the ball, hit it.

How is young Carr getting on a the tennis these times ??

59th in the junior rankings

Not bad at all .

Would his talents be best suited to clay or grass ???

Probably hard court is his best surface.

Itā€™s a sport for people with a low IQ who wouldnā€™t be able to process much information,itā€™s the MMA of field games.

The more I think about it, the more I donā€™t see McNamee being available.

It was a very heavy knock and he couldnā€™t really put any pressure on it coming off. Iā€™d expect Rory Brennan to come in for him, Hampsey will follow Murphy and I think we might see Meyler on McHugh though Rory Brennan picked him up in 2015 and effectively shut him down.

Cassidy on the bench is confirmation to me that McNamee is struggling badly and likely wonā€™t make it. Cassidy is a player Iā€™ve been disappointed hasnā€™t been give more of a run yet, from what Iā€™ve seen of him heā€™s got the lot, pace, aggression, can take a score and comfortable all across the pitch.

Iā€™m not sure who we will put on MacNiallais, maybe Rory Brennan to tag him about. Iā€™ve a worry about the size of our lads in that full back line. Murphy, MacNiallais, Thompson, Langan, McFadden and McLoone are all over 6ft and big big guys, they will all be taking turns inside and I think Donegal will try the high ball in there quite a bit.

Thereā€™s not a lot between the two sides and Donegal have a great record at Ballybofey but I think Tyrone will edge this one by 2 or 3. Weā€™re further down the track and I think the side will have gained some confidence about the way they put it up to Dublin at the end last fortnight. We have a strong bench with players who can make the difference coming in. Itā€™s also been refreshing this year to see guys like McShane, Burns etc show some real leadership - too often in the past few years itā€™s been left to Donnelly, Harte and Cavanagh and if they didnā€™t do it nobody would.

Let it fly and let God sort it

Hey Ewan.

He could sue you if that made any sense
