Fitzmaurice Out.
Thanks guys. As a half Galway man, i couldnât lose today.
Did they throw it??
yeah. Handier semi final next week mate.
I havenât the patience but you might explain to your buddy @anon32894817 why it would have made zero sense for Galway to take todayâs game seriously.
Well rested for the dubs. Ye will probably need to score more than 8 against them Id say
So your eliminated a day earlier? The biggest insult to the dubs is Galway throwing a game to face them. Youâve just poked a beast.
You seem very upset.
Yes of course I am. Another handy all Ireland for Dublin.
Are you a Kerryman (west Limerick)?
Kerry havenât beaten Dublin since 2009.
Theyâre shit. I told you that you were overrating them.
I donât know mate, Iâve just read a few posts, did Galway lose on purpose today to knock Kerry out, Monaghan are a good side but I havenât seen them recently, McManus is a brilliant player,
That makes zero sense. Lay off the booze for a few days.
A massive asterisk beside it however
If Dublin are to be beaten, it will most likely only be in a semi final. Uphill task for Galway next week but not having faced Dublin in Championship football since 1983 and after a very credible league final showing, Galway shouldnât have the psychological scars and inferiority complex in facing Dublin that Monaghan, Tyrone and even Donegal in recent years have after all the hidings theyâve suffered.
Have you managed to tell the difference between Saturday and Sunday yet?
Of course they didnât go out to lose on purpose, but they showed close to zero commitment and hunger. Thatâs not to take away from Monaghan who were excellent.
Reasons why it made no sense for Galway to go full tilt:
- Kerry are eliminated who (regardless of how bad they have been so far) would still be a contender had they progressed.
- Galway likely have to beat Dublin anyway if they hope to win the AI.
- No injuries picked up.
It was a challenge match. If Limerick played Kilkenny in a challenge the week before the AI final would they go all out to win?
I was at your last semi-final in 1988 against Cork and I might head along next weekend too.
Excellent display by Monaghan there. Very solid and controlled all over the pitch. I thought McAnespie, Hughes and OâConnell were brilliant.
@johnnysachs, Canavan has just highlighted that kickout and Maloneâs point which came from it.
