The only team they lost to from outside Munster this year was the only team they beat from outside Munster last year. It’s the slipping standards in Kerry that have caught them, not the change in format. Unfortunately for the rest of the country this looks like merely a temporary blip and they will be back dominating within a few years.

I told people to be cautious about Kerry as they had beaten nobody yet this year. I also predicted the demise of Mayo this year.

After winning 5 All Ireland’s in the 2000’s with the team of the decade, it was inevitable there would be a bit of a tail off. Kerry will be back at the top table soon, stronger than ever.

Kerry are now seeing the consequences of a decade of poor underage teams up to 2014 . The departure of the noughties teams have revealed a lot of very average players .
