Is Radio Ulster free state media?
Radio ulster? Mcginley?
Yeah, the threshold of what was a free was different in both halves of the field. That glaring inconsistency reminded me of James McGrath in the Kilkenny-Wexford game.
I canât comment because I was at the game and not listening to radio commentary but I know you have an irrational, embittered hatred of all things Tyrone.
I think Tyrone found it much harder to get a free, he regularly allowed Monaghan to overcarry before giving them very soft frees.
Brit state media .
I didnât offer a view, I was just asking if you thought mcginley was biased.
I told you I canât comment, I was at the game, not listening to it on radio commentary.
Cop out
Unlike you I will make informed commentary, not wild speculation.
Well done to Tyrone, I hope that they go on to beat Dublin. Theyâll need a perfect game however and some of the bad wides they hit today were worrying. It will be the lowest profile AI Final in 50+ years probably.
I thought either team could have won today but Tyrone took their goal chances. Thatâs just football. I donât really accept that Tyrone are the best team in Ulster because I donât think thereâs anything between them and Monaghan. Both teams hit bad wides. I thought the ref was poor against Monaghan. I thought there was a free against Kieran Hughes right at the end, I actually thought he gave it, but I was in the stand and couldnât really see. Bit of a bottler that ref.
I hope Monaghan take encouragement from this year and push on.
With all due respect, mate. It was never a free, Hughes was very lucky to get one about ten minutes earlier and this was a free out if anything. The referee was poor for both teams but I think Tyrone should have more objections with some of the calls.
No team has made it further than Tyrone in the AI in the past four years, I think itâs pretty certain that Tyrone are the top team in Ulster.
Tyrone were considerably better in quarter 1, Monaghan were slighty better in quarter 2.
Tyrone were considerably better in quarter 3 and by that stage should have been 5 or 6 up, then Monaghan had ten minutes between 52 and 62 where they looked to have taken control.
Unfortunately Monaghan have a history of letting these opportunities slip and they did again.
Monaghan started both halves poorly. Monaghan physically donât have enough supporters to fill Croke Park so they always start a little cold there. Then by the end of each half theyâve forgotten their surroundings and theyâre into it. Itâs a little different from being phased, they just find it hard to get the atmosphere going.
Monaghan are generally slow starters wherever a match is played.
The Kerry game was the exception to the rule.
Is this the opposite of the loud Limerick roar theory? No county fills Croke Park.
Itâs refreshing to note that punters are voting with their feet and not attending big football games anymore because most of the games are snorefest basketball type affairs. Less than 60k yesterday means a hit of a million squid.
Agreed. Tbh you couldnât go and watch the current fare as a neutral, Iâd imagine between that and the fair weather supporters itâs accounting for the drop off. Something badly needs doing to save Gaelic football.
How many times has Croke Park been full this season?
