2019/2020 UEFA Champions League - Round of 16 Draw

Wolves are a fine team too, Leicester reached a Champions League Quarter-final in 2017 which is better than either of the Milan clubs have done recently. You’re incredibly biased towards Serie A.

Atalanta’s first team cost about about 10% of what each of the EPL sides in this year’s CL cost to assemble. They are in the last 8 of the CL.

Are Wolves a fine team?

They’re fairly average if truth be told.

You’re a woeful man

Atalanta scraped through a group with Shakhtar and Dinamo Zagreb, followed by drawing Valencia in the last 16. A fairytale story alright

Whereas as Moneybags Liverpool had to win in their last game against Salzburg to qualify and then got knocked out on their own patch by Atleti.

6/7?

Aren’t Arsenal already out?
And Liverpool?
Spuds and Chelsea certain to join them.
So realistically City, United and Wolves?

Liverpool topped their group on 13 points. No shame in failing to reach a 3rd Champions League final in a row. Atletico are a good team who can attract top young talents like Joao Felix.

For a club of their unlimited resources this season was an embarrassment.

If they are such a good team why was Klopp and the Liverpool squad so dismissive of them?

European royalty can get preferential treatment from refs from time to time but didn’t need any help against Roma. The tie was over before half time. Roma put a bit of respectability on the scoreline with the help of a ref who felt sorry for them.

They needed serious help against Roma. They were heading out otherwise. They were gassed with half an hour to go.

They were toying with Roma. If they needed to they’d have shifted up the gears again.

They wouldn’t have had to rely on the referee in that case. They were flat out on their arses. This was before Klopp found the miracle cure to Liverpool not gassing in the second half of matches.

They only gassed against good teams and Roma were clearly a poor team. Klopp found the cure for beating good teams during that tie. Even though he let in 7 goals Alisson was the only decent player in that Roma team.

Why did they gas against Roma if they were a poor team?

They had to rely on the referee to come to their rescue.

Klopp found miracle drugs the next season that stopped them from gassing.

They said they would see them at Anfield, hardly being dismissive of them. There’s always a bit of cut with Atletico, a feisty team who have taken many a European scalp under Simeone.

Italy a solid 20 points behind English Premier League there. Like the fella who got 68 Š in an exam claiming to be better than the A student.

Italian teams don’t have referees doing their bidding for them.

Some of the decisions English clubs have gotten when they have faced Italian sides are beyond incredible and there is a clear pattern there of incredible decisions going in favour of English sides.
