2019/2020 UEFA Champions League - Round of 16 Draw

Busquets and Suarez are finished mate.

Man united v Barcelona in 09 Iā€™d imagine. The trashing dished out by messi as well.

Dortmund beat Real 4-1 in 2012/13. If weā€™re judging who was better by who got hammered by the least in games weā€™re really scraping the bottom of the barrel

Didnā€™t Barca beat Real comfortably in the 2011 semi?

This is TFK. Scraping the bottom of the barrel is par for the course.

Ok pal.

Generally it starts at the bottom of the barrell and goes down from there

I just said Iā€™d ballhop a bit

People always say such and such is the ā€˜end of a teamā€™ and now they have to rebuild. Has this ever actually happened in reality? How would it actually work would they sell the whole playing staff? Surely the Barca team will just change gradually like they have been doing for the last 20 plus years (and the rest) and like nearly every other team does every season sign some players sell some players.

2 nil is hardly a trouncing in any manā€™s language

Well I guess itā€™s the end of an era as much as anything. This team still has links to the great sides, but they wonā€™t by the end. But as you said that is the natural order. It should be a more severe makeover than a gradual one though

Sure only messi, Alaba, busquets and pique are left from 2011. Theyā€™ve countinho, griezzeman, Suarez, pjanic and dembele on the books. They need rid of at least 4 of those anyway for starters.

Bayern beat Messi and Barca 7-0 on agg in the 2013 semi-final too didnā€™t they? CR7 hasnā€™t been on the receiving end of any proper hammering to be fair.

Messi was injured for those games in 2013

Messi is a mouse.

Canā€™t do it in adversity.

He grew up in Rosario, during an economic recession in Argentina, his career almost never happened because he had a growth deficiency. Heā€™s 5 foot 7 and regularly gets clattered by the opposition. He goes and gets the ball and goes at them again.

Heā€™s overcome all this to become one of the greatest players in the history of the game. But yeah, Iā€™m sure a forklift driver from Tyrone who won the bob Rackard cup telling him heā€™s a failure will sting him

He regularly scored 40-50 goals a season too. Sensational player. Never saw Maradona play but his stats are nowhere near as impressive and he didnā€™t have as prolonged a career either. Of course Maradona did win the World Cup.

Oh my. Thatā€™s a smashing ooooffffftttty post

Just checked the stats. 634 goals in 731 appearances for Barca. Utterly insane brilliance. 70 goals in 138 caps for Argentina isnā€™t too shabby either.
