Nadal’s chances were enhanced by getting pulled off at 11pm on the Friday night. Djokovic had largely dominated that match on the Friday night from the start had just won the 3rd set for a 2-1 lead and had all the momentum if it it had gone into a 4th set on the Friday night. Nadal actually came out on the Saturday broke early in the 4th set and won the 4th set.
General rule of thumb, overnight break helps the player who is struggling. At French last year, Nadal was a set down and a break down in 2nd to Diego Schwartzmann when the rain intervened. He won in 4 next day.

Nadal had a quarter final on Tuesday, three day rest to semi final on Friday, day off Saturday and final on Sunday.
Grand Slam Protocol is for the top seeded player in the top half of the draw to play first. Nadal benefiting from preferential treatment from the organisers in Paris again.
