It felt like Mayo 2017 were primed to give the performance of their life in the final. And they did. I just wasnât enough.
The other three I mentioned all under performed relative to expectations.

No Mullin or McLaughlin. Clearly not fit - to start at any rate. That sextet of forwards wouldnât instil terror into many defences. Suddenly Iâm not as bullish as I was earlier. Is Horan devious enough to be indulging in mind games / dummy teams ?. Time will tell but Iâve a feeling weâll see pre-game changes.
I would be stunned if Mullin doesnât start
Conroy named at 14 is interesting. It might be a simple naming for the programme but Horan might be looking to get him on McNamee and running at/around him. I think AOS at full forward would play into McNameeâs skillset, heâd relish a physical battle and I donât think Mayo would get much change from that matchup. Conroy has the agility and skill to trouble him.
Niall Morgan
For old time sake
You canât beat the classics.
Extra time if a draw after 70 minutes.
If no winner after extra time then theyâll be a replay.
He can still be added no?
That would have been submitted to print on Monday Iâd say.
Theyâll call out changes before the parade tomorrow.
One of these notions hyphenated lads.
Iâm predicting Aidan O Shea will start on the bench.
I canât see the Tyrone bench?
Iâm in Smyths of Ranelagh now, FYI.
And I have to travel back to Throne in the morning and then back for the match.
Grrrrr
Oh I see the bench now, ah nothing just standard dark arts/mind games.
No Liam Rafferty, Brennan and a different sub keeper.
Enjoy your weekend pal
I trust Tyrone and Mayo will give a big cheer to tomorrow jubilee team
