He caught both throw ins which led to a great eruption of noise from the Mayo crowd in the pub I was in. He also scuffed a goal chance. The second half passed him by completely to the extend that I wondered if Iâd missed him going off.
He also subsequently gave away both possessions after the throw in I thinkđ

He was very good for 15 minutes before half time. He was poor enough outside that
Itâll be informative to hear the amount of comments focussing on a player in his 30s long past his best who gave a 5 or 6/10 performance and played similarly to almost every single big game heâs ever played. Iâd imagine he might take the blame for for the defeat.

As soon as I saw people with the phones out to record the pen being scored I had a bad feeling about it. My Mayo friend reckoned ROD was going to miss.
The Tommy Conroy chance just before it was a great opening too but he took the shot on a bit early. Underestimated how much time he had.

Hampsey got conroy on the back foot soon after for a good while on first half, conroy ended up playing miles from where heâs dangerous

In hindsight youâd have to say playing a running game against Tyrone is actually playing completely into their hands. They were unreal at getting mayo out numbered and then turned over when they ran in.
I donât think Tyrone are anywhere near the finished article, but thatâs some start for them now with a fairly young team. Plenty mileage left in them.
Mayo will be back again Iâm sure they always are. But Lee Keegan was their best player today by a distance and he might not be back. Theyâve a lot of improvement to find
