Itās impossible tbf. Iād say they will do away with it sooner rather than later
Do you think this is a skill that all teams have got massively better at in the last few seasons so? Becuase I donāt ever think there was so many borderline throws until last year or two, would think with advent of HD TV etc that it would become less of an issue spotting them watching on telly, not more difficult.
Not a jibe at Limerick either. Every team is at it IMO
No it isnāt. The rule states there has to be a clear/definite release and striking action
Well if we want a ref to blow for every hand pass out there weāll have some spectacle on our hands.
Enforce the rules and players and coaches will adapt. Too many hand passes are release and strike in the same motion. If not clear and obvious blow for the free
Iād say things are pretty panicked over there
Clare probably the biggest offenders, in fairness
Possibly the most fateful pre-match parade since 1996 when Limerick broke off half way up the Cusack Stand side to avoid the Wexford fans in Hill 16. That was game set and match to Wexford really and not Gary Kirbyās finger.
Good to see though that Limerick have learned from the lessons of history.
Yup, I knew we were fucked as soon as that happened
Genuine question. Iirc Waterford beat Kilkenny in a cracker of a league final that year and celebrated like twas an aif. Did that get to their heads?
We beat them in the league in 07 and yes we celebrated - it was our first national title since 1963. Even if it was āonly the leagueā. However Kilkenny were badly off colour that day and we still only managed to beat them by a point. Shefflin missed a 21 yard free from more or less in the Centre of the goal in the second half.
At least we have moved on and notched up three wins. Wexford havenāt been seen in Croke Park on All Ireland final day since.
Apart of course from Martin Storey getting to bring the cup in for the Limerick captain to collect.
Fail to prepareā¦
Waterford were the flashy, heart and tattoo on sleeve, dramatic, townyish antithesis to that Kilkenny team
Graham Mulcahy V Corkness
Thatās bullshit. Itās easy to see if the ball leaves somebodyās hand before a handpass or if itās a throw
It is in its hole. There have been plenty of incidents where a p,ayer has been blown up for throwing and the replay has shown otherwise.
There hasnāt been a throw blown as a free in about 3 years
We werenāt, but nowadays Iād say they throw it if in doubt.
Didnāt Lynch have one blown last year vs Tipp that would have led to a goal for Hego? And the replay showed it was blatantly a handpass?
