Astute
Call the final there Harry so I can console myself in advance & give it a miss
Cork have a serious underdogâs chance Sunday week. They were supposed to lose 86, 90, 99 but won all 3. Granted Limerick are a brilliant team, but were seriously troubled by a declining Tipp only a few weeks ago. Momentum, pace, an improving team, Cork just might do it. The cunts
Could never understand why they were underdogs in 86. Must have been all the hullabaloo about the newly invented "3rd midfielder " at the time which allowed Johnny Crowley to bring his deck chair and sunglasses and clear up loose ball all day
Indeed. Spoke with Cork supporters outside the ground, âSure weâre here anyway, weâll have a go sureâ won well really.
We were shocking in semi vs Antrim.
Galway destroyed Kilkenny and had beaten Cork on 85, Cork hadnât been
Impressive against Clare in Killarney and had a few players on their last legs, Teddy Mc making his debut, Galway were rightly fancied, that was a serious mugging off
Who would the other Munster counties be supporting in the final? OR would be hoping the game gets cancelled and neither win?
The '86 and '90 Cork teams had serious All-Ireland winning pedigree. The '99 team was filled with lads who had cleaned up at underage level and it had won a League title the previous year, when it still meant something.
'86 wasnât a mugging off at all, it was bookies completely misreading the situation.
'90 was a mugging off alright but it wasnât that surprising given Galwayâs historical tendency to shite themselves against Cork. Plus that Galway team was on the cusp of a serious downward spiral, unlike Limerick now.
'99 was a serious mugging off which went against all known form and history.
Fully behind Cork.
Must be a hard one for Tipp to decide. Theyâve cut the gap to two on Cork with 28 titles
Neutrals who are you backing?
- Cork
- Limerick

Limerick are everyones second favourite team.
1966 another final where Cork were rank outsiders and won. They were outsiders as well against Wexford in 1976 after Wexford hammered 3 in a row chasing Kilkenny by 17 points in the Leinster Final.
Cork would have been outsiders as well going in against 3 in a row chasing Kilkenny in 2004.
They would have been only marginal underdogs in 2004 . Kk were struggling that year really
Gillane would take Cadogan for about 3-3 if he got a half decent supply of ball
Cadogan would do ok on Hego though
Kilkenny had been beaten by Wexford in Leinster and stumbled over Clare after a replay in the quarter-finals that year though. Cork would have been many peoples favourites Iâd imagine. They had Brian Corcoran back on board too, although theyâd lost the electric Setanta from the previous years final.
A slightly less physically imposing version
If it is Damien, Hego will have to jump into the stand to get into an alteraction or hold on maybe a warm up brawl
