2023 AI Hurling Final Limericks v KK

Gillane totally taken out of the game too today, but yet Limerick had enough elsewhere to make up for it, Casey in particular. Kks half forward line is particularly weak and that was a big factor.

I think that’s their best ever display in a final during this run

They were 11/10 when 6 points down.

Kilkenny now -36 in aggregate scoring in their last 4 finals

Kilkenny just not near the required fitness levels really. Tired hard & definitely caused LK FB line issues but they were under the pump once facing the wind.

Awesome from Limerick.

They are the greatest of all time now I think, played much better opposition than the KK team of 15 years ago.

12 from 12 in finals

Will never be a team like this ever again.

2021 was better I think. An exhibition from minute 1

0-21 points to 1-6 in the second half? But Kilkenny won’t collapse like Galway. Fire up your rankings there Locke.

Some display of point shooting. Lynchs most dominant game. An unbelievable team, with years of no serious opposition.

Nothing on the bench to improve things either.

21 points in the 2nd half :exploding_head:

They are at their very peak last couple of games

Cian Lynch has done a Mark Vaughan - bleaching his heavily ginger hair.

Complete collapse from Kilkenny in the second half. As bad as the 2019 final.

Was only against Cork

They couldn’t get it past the Limerick half back line. It was amazing to see.

When the going got tough, the likes of Tom Phelan, Mossy Keoghan and Tommy Walsh were not good enough.

Cathal o Neill was a big boost for the Limerick lads.

Enjoy the win lads.

No.

Needed to take all their goal chances tbh. Cody one before HT etc.

I can only see a team now like Cork catching LK but it’s questionable whether they’re willing to get up to the level required too.
They’d have the hurling.

Kilkenny now 36% of the way to equalling Mayo’s 11 losing finals in a row, although six losing final games in a row is actually the most Mayo managed.
