Watched the second-half of that after training. Ballyboden were flattered by the 5 point winning margin in the end. Thought the Ballymun supporting cast did well. Evan Comerford made a couple of point-blank saves but his kick-out at the end left a lot to be desired. Heâd placed John Small under serious pressure with a similar quick one a few minutes earlier. I had a chuckle when MDMA slalomed through the Ballymun defence only for his handpass to hang in the air for an eternity and drop short.

Balinteer and Templeogue are the other teams in the group according to the commentator so youâd still fancy them to progress in 2nd place.

All done without Hercules whoâs sunning himself in Santorini this week and no sign of fellow Derry panelists McFaul, Ethan Doherty or Conleith McGuckin. Looks a policy decision to give them a rest after Gallagherâs antics at the start of the year.

Ballinteer are no gimme - theyâve a few decent underage teams coming through. Apart from the kick at the end i thought comerford was decent. His backs werenât exactly bursting their bollox to show for the ball and Boden had a massive lad in midfield alongside MDMA to do battle there
Itâs a major improvement on what they had which was a group where every team qualified. Now itâs the bottom 2 in each group into a relegation playoff, 5th finished for the year and the top 4 through to straight knockout. Each club get 3 home championship games in this format to allow local scores get settled/some enthusiasm be built up.
