2023 Club Championships

Glass was absolutely anonymous on the day people expected him to lead the charge to take down Clifford, who went absolutely nuts the same day. Same goes for the previous semi final v Galway. Who Clifford went on to give a clinic in the final.

I’m not discrediting Glass’ talent as he showed up in spades on Sunday. I just hope he gets the chance to redeem it for Derry in Croker this year. But he is nowhere near as infuential as Clifford.

It’s pure hyperbole.Glass was brilliant on Sunday but has been very quiet in a few big games in croker

Hercules bestrode Croke Park like an absolute colossus on Sunday.

Headshot, dropkick and clothesline

Are the majority of the St Brigids team in their early 20s? If that is true, they’ll win one or two over the next decade.

Clifford was absolutely mollycoddled on the day. The sight of joe, poised with whistle in mouth, desperately looking for the slightest contact, was repulsive to any true gael. Not to mention the fact that three assaults on mcguigan went unpunished.

Never that simple though is it.

They have tradition, which counts for a lot at this level

Connacht will never be simple, let alone Roscommon. But they’re a serious outfit and if they pull out another forward they’ll be very tidy.

They are but getting out of Connacht will never be easy.

And like any club, I doubt they’ll be immune to the pull of Australia/Dubai etc.

True that but you’d imagine they must have a good conveyor belt of talent to replace any losses

Yeah they won 5 minors in a row between 2016 and 2020. Ronan Stack was the only survivor from the 2013 All-Ireland winning team so a young side.

He has absolutely no business being in this position, there’s a covering defender closer. Don’t concede a goal and its done. Stay in your fuckin goal!

He doesn’t. It was a nawful decision to run out when he had already made his decision to retreat

But but kerry are the purists , they don’t do that sort of thing .

Ronan would be 32. The Keeper Sheehy is 40 and was an outfielder player who never made the senior team until this year.
They have been trying to get to Roscommon Keeper O’Carroll in from Oranmore so one to watch.
Brian Stack an Alan Daly next oldest at 26. Majority 20-23
Antony Cunningham taking them over next year with Owen Mooney as coach.

Antony had been rumoured to be in the wings due to a bit of ructions over the Christmas period. A good keeper with a decent brain is vital in the modern age. Hard to come by.

Anthony has the job got since before the county final if what is said locally is the be believed.
His son John came on Sunday for Brigids.
Mooney the coach is well regarded.

Roscommon are coming like a train. Doing so much right, you’d have to admire them.
