Na Fianna fecked themselves really. They were four points up after about 40 minutes then let Vinnies get 1-3 on the bounce. They’d got level going into injury time and then missed a total sitter of a goal chance, almost an open goal. Then they tried to play possession and gave the ball straight to Vinnies on their own 45 resulting in a point. They got level deep into injury time but then left themselves completely open at the back for the winner.

49 year old Mossy Quinn’s pass for the Vinnies goal was a thing of beauty.

A sedate weekend post picnic in Laois, as the Senior Hurling quarter finals take place. I dont see much surprises really. All shadow boxing before the semi finals in 2 weeks.

Abbeyleix should handle Rosenallis pretty easily you’d imagine. They’re a coming force and look to be settling nicely now at senior. With the Ballyroan lads now fully focused on the hurling as well it’ll be a big boost to them.

Clough Ballacolla have to be the favourites for the whole thing still, and should account for Castletown relatively easily. They’re just a step up on where Castletown are, and while Castletown are coming, they’ll need more reinforcements to take out a big gun yet. Incidentally, reminds me of this picture from last year. Proper windmilling.

Premier Intermediate quarter finals should see Clonaslee handle Rarthdowney Errills second team and Ballinakill should account for Clough Ballacollas second string. Still looking like Ballinakill Portlaoise showdown here.

In the Intermediate quarters Trumera should have enough for Abbeyleixs second string and Mountrath will be favourites to take out Clonad.
