Wexford looking to get next weeks game moved to Sunday - doubt the gaa will oblige - but think it would be better for all if it was at 3 or 4pm Sunday than 1:30 Saturday
The worry for Cork is that we are conceeding massive scores. Our forwards have been playing well but whether the workrate to provide some relief to the backs will be there when the intensity in upped a couple of levels is a big unknown. We have blinding pace and thats hard to defend against. All being said, we have improved from last year and thats a big positive.
Cork have Dublin next weekend which probably represents an easier test than Offaly. Dublin are hopeless.
Dublin are better than Offally. They are much better than they looked the last day.
We will win fuck all
It’s a nothing game lads. Cork are at 40%
Noel Connors pulled some stroke getting Lehane motm today he definitely backed him thinking it would be a handy few scores for him “immense” and the cunt anonymous for the entire game
Good to see Robbie O’Flynn back playing. That’s a big positive from the match.
That was a very strange game. Topped off by a farcical MOTM.
Very casual from Cork, which is disappointing to see. Those two goals in stoppage time were extremely frustrating. Shane Barrett, Hoggy and Brian Hayes the only starters who had a decent game.
Cork are purring.
Its probably about the only real positive from a Cork pov. That and avoiding injuries to key players. Pat Ryan also has a stick to beat them with and any hype or complacency will be dialled down a notch or 2 now. They were always going to win. Dublin represents another small step up in terms of a test. More minutes for Joyce and O Flynn. The latter might push hard for one of Dalton or Harnedys positions or play an important role off the bench ala Kingston. Cork going through the motions a small bit typificied by forward subs coming on and taking pot shots from ridiculous angles and situations.
Dan Bourke is gonna be a good one
This is exactly the type of match that Cork tend to dish out an absolute hammering in, and then fail to follow it up in the next real test. Maybe a change in approach is no bad thing for ye.
I fully expected a 10-25 to 0-18 type scoreline, regardless of Offaly’s progress this year.
Indeed. Thought they would beat the handicap with plenty to spare. Maybe not a bad thing as you say.
A lot of people poo-pooed Offaly last week, saying they would have been better off losing to Laois. They showed the stupidity of that viewpoint today.
Offaly are a hurling county with a recent history of success, they are a different animal to Laois or Westmeath or Carlow or Antrim or Kildare.
The others will never bridge the gap. Offaly will. Because they are Offaly.
Joyce didn’t look great today.
Who exactly said that?
