They played a beautiful brand of football in the league final.
Flying up the field and scoring stunning goals.

More excitement here in the England match in 5 minutes than in 70 minutes of the Kerry match
After 60 minutes of sitting back hitting on the break.Keep up.
Ah well. If nothing else at least we know mcguigan is better than clifford
That’s not true.
Ye need to get rid of Harte
In a game that was absolutely abysmal, the highlight was probably Clifford’s mark - and that’s the one thing fellas want to see removed from the game. A Galway-Kerry final again is all that can save summer now.
Trippier would get into Kerry team with that’ finish
I think it’s less feasible to ban the handpass entirely in football than it is in hurling. You could easily imagine hurling with the handpass being banned. It might enhance the game. I think there’s a very good chance it would.
There are so many situations in Gaelic football where a quick handpass not just is the necessary option, but considerably enhances the game. Foot pass only would turn the game into pure dross.
Like, if you imagine James O’Donoghue’s goal from play against Dublin in the 2013 semi-final. A quick foot pass by Gooch was the initial incision, but it was Donnacha Walsh’s quick handpass to O’Donoghue that made it. He turned the Dublin defence right around and created the space in an instant. It was a phenomenal pass. Ban that, and you’re changing the game for the worse massively.
Tactics is the elephant in the room. Gaelic football has become a game of tactics, of approach. When you get a team like Mayo who go balls to the wall, it’s phenomenal. When you get a team like Derry today and an opponent like Kerry who don’t try to aggressively break down the blanket defence, you get the pile of excrement we just watched.
That would be just papering over the cracks
No fist pass??? Are you on drugs?
No fisted points
You’d be excluding a nawful lot of Futbollers from the game
Ah yeah, that’s a different thing
Nothing better than a big high ball into the FF in the square who catches it and lays it off to an incoming corner forward who smashes it into the net
Donaghy to O’Donoghue against Mayo in 2014.
Mulligan to Canavan 2005
Mulligan to Canavan AIF
Yeah but you can always finesse it, pick a zone where it’s allowed even. A rule applied to the player in possession actually has a chance of implementation. Shot clocks, minimum # of players in opposition half etc are too complicated.
