This is top stuff so far. Getting ahead of Van Gerwen is the key. He plays up or down depending on whether he’s ahead or behind. If Anderson can get a two set gap you might see the big baby appear.
Van Gerwen strays into the 1 and 5 beds now quite a bit.

Bit chaotic but MVG in bother
36yr old v 55yr old here. Van Gerwen should be still top two in world, and he’s also lost a load of weight in recent years.
A difficult few weeks between wan thing and another.
The dart from Robert has unnerved him.
Anderson’s averages in this tournament so far suggest he is a genuine contender to win it out.
Fitness, especially with being in the tough half of the draw would be the big worry. But if he could sail through this without having to go to the well that would be a help.

MVG ain’t the 3rd best in the world atm. Getting into the final last year is artificially boosting him in the order of merit
Deciding leg of second set he gave it big licks hitting the 180 but there were 2 57s either side of it. Gary hit a 140 and saw it out without fuss . It’s nowhere near mvg of old, he looks finished in terms of long matches
Gary Anderson’s darts land on the board in the most pleasing fashion of any player I can think of.
