This promises to be the most anticipated Irish sporting event in years.
Basketball Ireland are handling this incredibly well given everyone wants to take a pot shot at them. Iād love to see them either batter the shit out of Israel or turn up wearing Palestinian colours or something like that.

The IHRA definition of anti-Semitism deems betting on anything involving Israel to be anti-Semitic.
It seemed very unfair and a cheap shot by McAuley and Peat in recent days. Iām not sure what they wanted other than to perhaps self promote.

Israel 49th in the World Rankings vs Ireland in 81st. Those are generous odds on Ireland.
I canāt remember what podcast I was listening too back in late November but it was some well respected Irish journo who had covered a lot of Middle Eastern stuff. This was around the time the Irish ambassador was called into the Israeli PM for a dressing down (which seems like an eternity ago).
Anyway, he was highlighting how Irelands reputation in Israel is absolutely awful. They genuinely believe we hate them and are hugely anti-semitic. I think the pro-Palestinian movement thats been present and visible in Ireland for the last couple of decades has been far more visible in Israel than weāve realised. He was shocked at the hatred for Ireland in Israel given weāre likely seen as fairly neutral and inoffensive internationally by most.
The IRA having allegedly worked with the likes of Hezbollah and Hamas in the past was another thing that they Israeliās used to love to bring up too.

Friend of Mrs Pox lives in NYC and used to work with IDA there. She was saying that a lot big Tech and Finance companies over there are giving the IDA the cold shoulder due to Irish support for Palestine.
