'Tis mad how the same lads whoâve the spent the last two and a half years screaming for Ukraine to surrender havenât uttered a word calling for Palestine to surrender, even though the Palestinians have always been in basically the same situation as the Ukrainians.

Went out like a champ. This is far from over, in the long term. There may be a period of calibration within the ranks, but Israel made an awful mistake not to negotiate for hostages and end it relatively early. Thereâll be a handful of people signing up to the Hamas ranks with every palestinian civilian killed by the Israelis. We seen that in the North. Lots of the ranks of dissident orgs filled with people who lost loved ones in the trouble. Theyâd wiped out the majority of Sinwarâs family down the years to try and weaken him. The guy had nothing to lose, and is no doubt finally at peace.

All through this I keep thinking what a 7 year old in Gaza now will be in 15, 20 years time. Apart from most likely being an orphan, carrying an AK, wearing an explosive vest or piloting a UAV into an Israeli town.

Hard to have hope. That, or on a floating dinghy to Europe. Who could blame them?! Joining Hamas, or any guerilla group trying to rise against a murderous colonisation machine is the only opportunity to try and aim for some sense of justice that some people will ever get.
