A new low for Israel. How low can they go?

The one problem with parliamentary democracy is that a very small voter base can hold a completely disproportionate, unfair, and on occasion dangerous balance of power.

That front left flag should be removed

The skull is the Green Brigade logo for a long time. That image and that flag have been in Palestine and in Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan and Lebanon.

It is clearly a threatening image.

Whatā€™s threatening about it?

The skull that has been on every Green Brigade logo for years that youā€™ve never commented on before? Or the Palestinian headscarf?

Iā€™ve never seen it before.
You are being wilfully blind, so thereā€™s not much point arguing with you. It is a sinister image.

There is an image of a skull in the bottom right of the picture that you forgot to object to. Itā€™s the headscarf thatā€™s upsetting you.

Seems like this has been taken down now.

Iā€™d say a fair few lads here wore the Palestinian scarfs back in the day. They were a real thing mid 90s

@flattythehurdler is Dermot Desmond ??

Weiss - the journalist - is based in Israel, and may actually be Israeli. While he didnā€™t write the headline, Iā€™d imagine heā€™d have his own biases

Tommy Tiernan had a great yarn about a lad who used to pop out of the crowd at Galway Utd games with a Palestinian head scarf and plastic machine gun chanting ā€œP, P, PLOā€

hey flattty - thanks for the PM last night - all good - i owe you a reply but much appreciated
so - apologies that was me last night just giving a matter of fact account of the trigger of the rioting in east jerusalem
itamar ben gvir is in charge of Otzma Yehudit- they are an extreme right secular movement with links to Meir Kahane and Baruch Goldstein- he now has weight because he got elected to the last knesset under the guise of some ultra orthodox faction, him and the arabs in sheik jarrah are at it for the last few years- last week he saw his opportunity as it was Ramadan when they always riot anyway and also Al Aqsa is closed AND it was jerusalem day an event hijacked by the settler movement nowā€¦
So he provokes the arabs claiming that he will build a settlement after they have been evicted, cue mayhem,

now Hamasā€¦ and the west bank
hamas couldnt care less about sheik jarrah and the arabs there but to get one over their enemy mahmoud abbas they decide to attack israel after the israeli police entered al aqsa, its a power move on their behalf to show they are the real defenders of jerusalem
anyway ā€¦ bottom line, netanyahu was a week away from loosing power- thats off now- ben gvir has also done his job

this is really serious now
In 2014 it was IDF v Hamas- now its Hamas and also the rioting between jews and arabs in the isareli shithole working class places like Lod is getting really really badā€¦ so people are being radicalised which is good news for Bibi, Ben Gvir and Hamas

Are Hezbollah still kicking about? Would they get involved in Israel again?

Itā€™s easy criticise Hamas and boy do they deserve it. They are only a monopoly in Gaza however because of the sheer corruption of the PLO. Arafatā€™s minions lived up in the hill with gated security taking back handers. Meanwhile the people were starving below. Hamas filled the vacuum opening schools, policing the streets etc. Was only a matter of time before they were sole proprietors.
PLO corruption in the West Bank is still endemic too.

Themselves and Hamas wouldnā€™t be friends at all. Hamas are crazy Sunni whereas Hezbollah would be the bottom of the Shiite triangle stretching through Lebanon, Syria and ending in and controlled by Iran
