I had to go to the bank yesterday to lodge a cheque I’d received. There was a slight error in the titling of the payee so I endorsed it correctly and marked it “Pay to account XXXXXXXX” and then the fucking thing kept reversing back out of the machine.
I enlist the assistance of Nuala who repeated my efforts but I detected she hit some other button that I hadn’t seen but in the end the fucking cheque vanished and a receipt issued.
I’m at home 2 hours later when Constance phones. Brief palaver …
