A United Ireland

In all fairness, thereā€™s a long to go and no thought been put into it yet.

Time to start thinking

Make Belfast the capital. Dump the flag and anthem, who in their right mind gives a fuck about them in the grand scheme of things.

The only thing that will convince the majority of Unionists that itā€™s a good idea is economics as in standard of living. Itā€™s a remarkable turnaround that a few decades ago Unionists regarded Ireland as a backward impoverished RC shithole and now the average income in Ireland is higher and significantly higher if you remove the UK subsidy. Add in the fact that Ireland has a stable government while NI has none and the UK is a shambles. Anyone with a brain on the island can see the future is a United Ireland.

If Brexit happens, and it most likely will, the NI economy will suffer most and specifically border areas. It does present an opportunity for leaders on both sides of the border to get their heads together and come up with a transition plan to a UI. Do these leaders exist is the question.

One would hope the EU would be highly supportive of a UI member state if the UK leaves, including financially replacing the UK subsidy as long as necessary.

Are we willing for a type of civil war? Because those glorified squatters of plantation descent will attempt to tear the whole island apart before going quietly into the night.

Unionists would not care if Belfast was the capital. Devolved power would be expected.

It would be a good opportunity for Cork to get their well deserved Independence

Sadly there is a very good chance of a Yugoslavia type slaughter in the north at some point in this century

I was once given a simple illustration by a distinguished journalist with extensive experience of Yugoslavia of the ethnic situation in the affected areas

He laid out a towel on a table and threw a load of small red Tic-Tacs onto the towel

Then he threw a load of blue Tic-Tacs onto the towel, followed by a load of yellow ones

Substitute those blue, yellow and red Tic-Tacs for orange and green ones and you have the situation in the north, pretty much every community is interwoven with orange and green

They thought it couldnā€™t happen in Yugoslavia either

Nobody ever thinks it can happen, until it does

Except this time the rest of the country would insist on an end to the free movement of Carkies

Unionists have no interest in stable government, thatā€™s why they have collapsed power sharing and vote DUP.

A stable UI is about 400-500 years away. First of all there would have to be a majority of at least 80% for it to be accepted by the cavemen up there in any shape or form

FFG would shit themselves at the vista. Their little plaything banana republic where they keep the seat warm for the other would be gone.

Not to mention having to deal with the nationalist cavemen.
If NI manages to have one foot in the EU and one outside, it could become some strategic place to set up business, taking the overload away from Dublin and boosting the north of the island economically.

its a win win for them, the fact these cavemen are against it ,tells you what you would have to deal with with them. Everything is ideological in that kip. The economic burden would be too savage for us to take on. Then you have a totally dysfunctional society that would take a few hundred years to put right, Most of the population are severely damaged mentally. Anyone in their right mind would want their head examined to vote for a UI
