Yeah O’Dea was horrific. Should never be in the situation where he’s leading the defence though. The January transfers, while individually good, are a bit of a mess collectively. No issue with Kamara signing for example but with Keane and Rasmussen signing then what was the need? Could we not have signed a centre half instead? Signing 3 strikers is fine if it doesn’t preclude you from signing defenders but if the budget didn’t stretch to a centre half also then Mowbray needed to make the call to sacrifice one of his strikers for his defenders. The suspicion is he got a bit giddy and signed the more attacking lads without considering balance. I’ve made the same mistake in Championship Manager but I like to think if I was taking a salary for managing a club that I’d put a bit more thought into it.
