Abortion Referendum Thread

yes there is oversight in the policing authority, oireacteas, etc.

I have a serious issue with a charity who’s funding is based on the level of the crisis being allowed to report utterly unverified numbers that may benefit it financially.

see also Irish refugee council and incidents of racism reported.

You’re a halfwit. A good thing you’re consigned to the copying room.

I have yet to see a pro Repeal poster with “Vote Yes. Vote for unrestricted abortion up to 12 weeks”

I find that odd seeing that is exactly what they are campaigning for.

hardly exactly what they are campaigning for. It would be disingenuous to say abortion had nothing to do with it, but the current laws are completely unworkable, and in cases where people do not want abortion or do not support abortion, the constitution as it stands should be repealed. The way it is worded now leaves pregnant women very exposed to not being properly medically treated due to being pregnant. Also during birth makes it very unsafe to the mother.

The consequences of removing said legislation means it gives the government the authority to install whatever they want. As it stands, what is on the table is abortion up to 12 weeks. They could easily put that at 24 or 6 or whatever, I doubt they would, but the current vote is firstly about removing the 12th amendment. The knock on effect as it stands will be the introduction of abortion up to 12 weeks.

You have serious issues with a charity that is filling a gap that the government doesn’t want to fill?

You want to rely on figures which the organisation producing said figures openly acknowledges are fatally flawed. That is extremely fucking stupid in any situation Art.

and the charity sector is beyond reproach?

Dumb question. Why do you want to use figures the GardaĂ acknowledge are fatally flawed? It beggars belief.

Is the RCC beyond reproach?

Not relevant to your original point.

It’s relevant to your point. You want to believe what suits your argument willy nilly but want to apply much sterner scrutiny to points that don’t.

You are conflicted by your own rationale.

Where has this happened?

in ireland mate, please keep up

You couldn’t make it up

Instances please, no need to be so vague.

Certainly is

You want names?

No it isn’t. You suggest using fatally flawed figures simply because they are produced by an arm of state, that is really fucking stupid.

I dont have to hand every instance in Ireland where women have been refused cancer treatment, general medical procedures or other medicinal treatments due to being pregnant.

I dont expect you to understand, nor actually engage in a proper discussion. If you do not think that a pregnant woman being refused treatment or that situations are let develop because under the amendment there is equal rights between the pregnant women and her unborn child, then there is little point discussing it any further. As I said to you earlier on here, I am not here to educate you. Come prepared if you want to discuss.

I want instances. You wouldn’t really know about substantiating claims.

You are actually looking for names
Jesus wept you’re living in a world of your own, do you think it doesn’t happen?
