Abortion Referendum Thread

Wonder will the pro-abortees have any last minute crisis of conscience in their desire to have unborn babies killed.

D4 is a state of mind. Have you ever been to Castleknock?

I also don’t think this is a done deal. Turnout is key. Referendums to do with abortion have historically had low turnouts. I think the No support is harder and more likely to turn out and they will get the lion’s share of undecideds. Polling is harder to get right in referendums and you can have very big swings between the polls and the actual result that you wouldn’t get in general elections.

There is a majority of the whole country in favour of repealing the eighth amendment, but there may not necessarily be a majority of voters.

A friend I was having a pint with last night was undecided but clearly leaning in favour of repeal. But he says he won’t vote because he believes it’s nothing to do with him. That’s an attitude that worries me.

I had two No canvassers call to the door yesterday evening and they were as deluded and ignorant as I would have expected. Fucking cunts.

Hopefully the ridiculous antics and horrible nature of the prominent No campaigners have hit home with the undecideds and soft Yeses over the last week and that might kill off their challenge.

I didn’t see the TV3 debate apart from brief clips later, but Mullen seems to have predictably gone down like a lead balloon and Steen has been exposed pretty badly over the last week or so as a deeply, deeply unpleasant individual.

Good to have John Giles on board.

A party political person I know is predicting a larger victory for Yes than same sex marriage.

Can’t see it myself.

The Grand Lodge are out in support of you too before they have their annual parades soon.

I’m guessing this was what that particular interaction was like.

It’s bad when yes voters are lower than the Orange Order.

You’re hand in hand with the Orangemen on this issue - marching down the same road together. Two sets of intolerant argumentative nordies - you’re well matched

The amount of Yes votes from young men will be very disappointing IMO.

And you’re walking down the same road with Myra Hindley and Ian Bailey.

This isn’t a foregone conclusion by any means. The no side will rattle these murdering blood thirsty bastards until the last vote. St padre pios birthday is tomorrow. this evil (abortion) must not be allowed.

Ian Bailey???

You turnip!

The Repeal branding has not helped…

any d4ishness would’ve been beaten out of leo in KH. he got his d4ishness from coveney

Martin and Coveney need to be excommunicated from the Catholic Church with immediate effect.

I’m sorry I’m not as familiar with child killers as you.
