Abortion Referendum Thread

Iā€™d take the 5-1

I think youā€™d be mad. I think itā€™ll be a lot closer. The mobilisation of the no side is impressive .

Iā€™d say theyā€™ll shoot themselves in the foot repeatedly as it gets closer and debate intensifies, in my personal experience Iā€™m hearing that middle ground voters (particularly in my workplace) have been turned off them by the posters and gobshites like yer man in Limerick

Is it? Genuine question btw.

Lot of people wont vote in that situation.

Yupā€¦ Stories like your one from the communion mass are wide spreadā€¦ Priest in Cork pulled someone up out of the crowd to speak against repeal after he had read the Bishops letterā€¦ 4/5 young people got up and walked out and you can be sure more felt like doing itā€¦ You can multiply that across the country. As Iā€™ve already said, the posters are causing major outrage.

They should face criminal charges.

pro abortionists resorting to Russian style spambot influencing, as they become increasingly desperate ā€œeveryone I talk to is voting yesā€ ā€œI heard a priest in Roscommon handed out leaflets with pictures of dead babies at confessionā€ its fascinating to watch

I am for giving children the opportunity to grow up and sample life rather than hand reckless people a delete button for the consequences of their actions.

If youā€™re not ready to have kids, then youā€™re not ready to have sex. People need to face up to the consequences, itā€™s not about them anymore, itā€™s about the children.

What about the children that were on the same boat as Mountbatten? Did the IRA have the right to press the delete button on their lives?

They sampled life

A man served a custodial sentence for that. He was punished by criminal law. The IRA apologised for the loss of the childā€™s life. You want to make those who choose to deprive a child the right to live free reign to do so.

You havenā€™t answered my question. No whataboutery please.

They are completely different situations. The law punished the accidental killing of a young boy. Those advocating the killing of babies during pregnancy want to absolve the killers of punishment and make it legal.

Ironic for a lad who is for absolution of baby killers to be moralistic on war killings. Of course it was wrong but it was not intentional and it was deeply regretted.

You are engaging in whataboutery and asking me not to do the same. Seems like you donā€™t like having to deal with your own gospel, typical atheist.

Again, I note your refusal to answer the question.

You are a hypocrite and you support the murder of children.

Refusal to answer the question? Itā€™s there in black and white. I said it was wrong, your hypocrisy is so evident though.

All for killing unwanted babies, but moralistic of the consequences of war. All for whataboutery when the parameters fit but deeply rooted against it when they donā€™t.

The fact your morals are based on nefarious double standards says it all.

Pot and kettle.

Iā€™m the one without the double standards. Youā€™re the one vagrant lying displaying them.
