Abortion Referendum Thread

You’re the one looking to legalise abortion har.

Abortion is not Murder.

You horrific cunt.

Let some woman suffer.

You sound like the sort that parts his hair.

Do you?

Is that more civil?

I disagree I think it is.

You don’t want to answer the question so.

You sound a little overtired thumper and a tad overdramatic. No one wants anyone to suffer, the bigger picture is to do what’s right for the greater good of all. Don’t be trying to personalise it.

I agree on your point about the tactics. I was at this march last year and one of the speakers was going on about late term abortions and how it’s a woman’s right to choose no matter what trimester she’s in. That’s not going to do any favours for the repeal campaign in the long run. It’s only going to push those on the with doubts in to the pro life camp as they will feel they have no other option.

This was my point earlier about being nervous over voting in favour of it. I am in principle (@Fagan_ODowd) in favour of allowing abortion in cases of rape ect, but I do believe this is just the beginning of it. It certainly won’t do their campaign any good as they need wider support.

Lol

Personally I think it should be available in all cases. The campaign tactics will be interesting though. I was skimming an article by that dose una mullally earlier and she was going on about how the marriage equality referendum was a success because it went full pelt and pushed for full rights but abortion is a totally different kettle of fish. A lot of people are against abortions past the 12 week point or earlier and these people will be the ones that swing the vote. I would think a sizable chunk of people are pro abortion in the case of rape incest etc but otherwise are undecided or against. By constantly referring to full abortion rights there’s a risk that people will feel they are being backed in to a corner and will end up siding with the god botherers

Hopefully the repeal side get their act together, as at a minimum throw out this stupid legislation and put something semi sensible in its place. Even 40 years after Roe v Wade, it’s still a difficult subject in the US but no way is it going back to the way it was. Women have the right to control over their bodies, men who disagree should be forced to give birth to a 5 kilo bowling ball through their unlubed holes.

It’s the edgy point of view.

@KinvarasPassion, who won?

Outstanding form last night Tim.

You are right in general about life now. Take some responsibility for your actions. Men in particular are dreadfully bad at this in alot of cases. Completely unwilling to change their lives when a kid arrives for instance.

I’m not sure where i am on the subject. I was adopted so people assume anti-abortion. But i am not in either camp really. My annoyance here is with the catholic church and their dispicable carry on. Its an extremely grey area and no 2 stories are the same. Some form of adjudication system may be cold and complicated, but it may be the answer.

I agree 2 fuckwits (alot of us have probably been there) having sex and taking chances know the risks. I believe they should live with it. Its one of the few instances where women can be logical and cold i have seen, but men hung up emotionally. We are born to want to reproduce. We want our seed to continue. So the thought process there with some men is, will i get another shot at it? Even though in vast majority of cases of course they would.

However there are situations that merit a termination.

[/quote]You’re quite right. I was overtired.

Sincere apologies and to @Tim_Riggins also.

I’d be very concerned about the tone of the repealers. Who have no qualms about exploiting very emotive and sensitive issues such as fatal foetal abnormalities to make the case for a liberal "UK style " abortion law.

Some horrible cunts lining up on both sides once again. It’d turn your stomach to see them going at it already. Of course this fight has been fought before, only this time we have the Internet and social media and as we saw from the gay marriage referendum it’s going to be fucking full on if and when it comes. Self righteous cunts preaching at us from every side, it’s going to be utterly sickening.

Of course the irony being that if the was free access to abortion in Ireland all this time most of the posts on this thread would not be here as most of the cunts would have been aborted

Surely sementics would be more appropriate in the circumstances
