How is it Independent if it relies entirely on its mother to survive?
There is an argument that a fetus that can survive outside the womb has rights, and indeed that’s what legal abortion law in the US and Canada is based on. It doesn’t mean the same rights as a person though, in the case of a medical emergency the mothers rights take precedence.

Thats the grey area and i would tentatively agree that once a foetus/baby can survive independently it should certainly not be aborted

A one year old cannot survive independently by the way ie without someone to care for it

Just wish they’d call a date for the referendum and be done with it. The zealots on both sides will be tough to listen to over the next few months.
