Is there any test you can do to see if the babies are going to be touts?
If the baby kicks when God save the Queen is played you know it’s gonna be in the ra. - If it doesnt kick there’s a 50/50 chance it could be a tout so best abort just to be sure.
Did she have a right to life???
I’m not on for changing legislation that would allow her to be killed, mate. You are on for making killing unborn babies legal.
Jarry Adams would have been terminated
Did Jean have a right to life - can you answer the question?
The debate is about legislation. There were laws in place to convict those who murdered her which they did in that knowledge. Everyone has the right to live. Killing unborn babies should not be legalised, there should be consequences for actions.
ok, that’s fine I just needed to get your thoughts on IRA victims and you’ve said that the IRA were wrong in murdering them. We couldnt have any double standards on here.
They knew the consequences and risk of their actions and were willing to accept them.
Abortion seekers meanwhile want absolution from killing. This is wrong, actions have consequences.
Based on what evidence.
Only barrier to travel is cost so you are stopping poor people having abortions.
Thus reducing abortion numbers.
How very Victorian of you.
So abortion is ok for middle class people who can afford it. Not for poor people. Should all health care be rationed that way.
Is sterilising the poor an option? Seems like it would solve a lot of problems?
If my hypothetical daughter got pregnant at 18 and wanted to abort the child because she’s inconsolable and doesn’t want the child then I’d be very clear in telling her that I’m not in favour of aborting it. That same baby or foetus or whatever you want to call it will be your grandchild. How many grandparents look at their grandchildren as they grow up and say “I think a mistake was made here, I think that person should have been aborted?”
I’d say the conception of a fair few of the posters here weren’t planned, there may have been very difficult decisions and compromises made by mothers to give these children their chance.
A lot of posters here have probably been in a position where they got a girl pregnant and they’re first wish was that it didn’t happen. I wonder how many mothers or fathers look at their children, who could have been born in difficult circumstances or with some health condition and wish they had aborted that child when they had the chance.
Does a woman facing death from pregnancy not deserve to live? Does someone who is raped not deserve to have an abortion? If the feotus is going to die or live a very short period of time, should a woman not be spared from the trauma of carrying out the pregnancy? — You continue to ignore that abortion is happening and will never stop, ever. Do we not have a duty of care if something is going to happen regardless?
education about prevention is fine and I’m not arguing against that - but ignoring the issue and even voting no is not going to change the issue.
You seem to think that abortion is only linked to (consensual) unprotected sex - and you’re ignoring the reality of everything else and even the danger of pregnancy from consensual sex of a couple hoping for a child.
Nope. You answered your own question. Not legalising abortions on Ireland reduces the number of abortions Irish women have yearly.
Glad we established you are not against abortion. Only abortions for the poor.
Women facing death from pregnancy are in the minority, I don’t have an issue with doctors saving the mothers life in this exception but it should be the only exception.
If she was 18 you’d have no say in the matter - The question is do you want her to travel alone to the UK in fear and in secret - or to have the abortion in Ireland with the proper supports in place?
I’m quite clear what I stand for and I’m staunchly against legalising abortions.
