Advice on living in Dublin (ie. don't)

Whats the story with the school work, Kev? Do you join a scheme or set up yourself and try to get schools interested yourself?

really? thats mad, times obviously changed anyway. yeah the no claims thing is a pain in the hole alright. I was being rode solid on it when I came back, but worked around it and I wasnt gone for more than 3 years anyway. the visas are an utter pain in the hole here too, and impossible to deal with. The dept of foreign affairs are pretty useless as well. Getting the employment permit is a nightmare and worth fuck all in the scheme of things if its an inter changeable job.

best of luck with the other venture too.

a PPSN and a proof of address should be enough, she’s an abbo right? she should be in the same category as say an afghan asylum seeker

Proof of address was a nightmare. As was pps. You need an address for a pps but you need a pps for everything else. Nothing bar Internet was in our name and I foolishly just did it in my name not thinking anything about it. Initially stayed at family home and despite bills, a letter from my parents etc saying she was staying with then nobody, especially the cops, would accept it as proof of address.

Administrive cops are arguably the most useless cunts in Ireland. Felt really sorry for the non-nationals who wouldn’t have the support system or maybe a great grasp of English who were going thru the same thing. Cops were incredibly ignorant to them

I haven’t joined a scheme anyway? Fill me in?

As of now i’M using friends who teach as contacts to get into principals. Was into my own school and they were mad for it but my own club pulled the plug saying it would upset the hurling coach already in there :expressionless: They just don’t understand how it could work in tandem and help the kids. Crazy stuff.

But never a prophet in your own parish as they say.

As long as you have the INTERNET, everything else is secondary.

Hard to find a non ignorant cop anywhere.

+1, harmless enough apart from a few low level undesirables.

Coming back to the Irish weather must be a right cunt.

Ha Ha! That shut that prick up.

Weather doesn’t bother me at all. I love wind and rain as much as the sun. Affected herself alright a few weeks ago when it was really shit and there was homesickness. I hate it very hot more than extreme the other way anyway.

Problem with her stamp?

Great fucking thread :+1:

Copyrighting or copy writing?

Just for anyone thinking of staying in the Parnell Square region of Dublin for a few nights, I’d heartily recommend the Best Western there off O’Connell Street, a De Luxe hotel in an up and coming neighbourhood of Dublin, already nicknamed EaCo ( East of O’Connell Street ) by its bohemian and hipster residents.
