9 to 5 with one day a week from home.
Meh. I wouldn’t fancy the m50 at those times anyway. Rarely on it anymore thankfully. You tied to fingal to live?
I’d be slow to let a job dictate where I lived personally. Usually works a lot better other way around
I’m in Fingal and within 20 minutes of citywest. Leave early and you’re fine.
I quite like the north side and would see myself settling here. I’d be similar. The thoughts of facing the m50 every day really is a deal breaker.
M50 is fine most days
It would all depend on the time it takes to get on the M50 (you say 15, think of it early morning on a school run, is that realistic?) and the time to get off.
I’m not a regular user but could get on at Sandyford or Dundrum at quarter past 8 and reasonably expect to be off it in 35/40 minutes at junction 1.
There’ll always be crashes that you can’t avoid but is that any worse than being a rat on public transport in the city centre on a shit day in winter?
Walking is the key.
Indeed. I walked to work 75% of the days I ever worked in Dublin from 3 different houses. Pay for the luxury though
Or a scooter
I’m not Italian mate.
South side might be your best bet. Knocklyon, Firhouse or Templogue direction. You won’t need to go near the m50 to go to Citywest, just go the Tallaght bypass out that direction
You’d save an awful lot on transport costs including taxis though which people don’t really figure into these things.
I’m not leaving Fingal for a job and I am most certainly not moving south side. Its a kip
I drive the M50 to that exit regularly between Sept and May. It can be a horrible fucking nightmare. Any crash fucks you.
M50 at those times is horrific. Don’t do it. No money makes up for the serious amount of fuckery you meet on the M50
Also to add, Citywest is some cunt of a place to get out of at that time of an evening as well
Take the job, the traffic is grand, especially at those times
Move to Lucan
Or Tallaght
It’s where it’s all at
