Albums of 2016

Saw them on Jimmy Fallon a few weeks ago and decided to check it out. Spotify is great for that.

I was gonna ask if you were interested after seeing your comment about Biosphere. I see the download around the last few days. Liked ‘The Orb’s Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld’ a lot.

Tackling the new Bon Iver album at the moment, it’s not as good as the first based on the first few listens but this song is the pick of them so far for me

Yeah the vinyl is on the way to me in the post. I’ll post up a review. I really liked the record they did with Lee Scratch Perry in 2013.

Lovely.

Its fantastic. Can’t compare it to the first one though as its completely different.

He has a new album out know produced with Knowledge. Well worth a look if you liked ‘Malibu’.

The new Drive-By Truckers is one of the better recent releases, particularly their opening tracks.

The new Orb album arrived today. I’ll put it on during the United game tonight and turn down the sound on the Telly and I’ll post up my thoughts.

Giving this its second listen now. I’ll caveat this by declaring that I am a martyr for ambient music, but this is a beautiful super record.

Third listen now. I’m loving this.

This has a few great tracks, but a lot of it is fairly shite. Definitely their worst album by some distance. That 7 minute rock track for example might be the worst thing I’ve ever heard from anyone ever.

Anderson Paak artist of the year.

An outlier here.

A really excellent album, this.

John Congleton who produced their last album put out a good album this year too.

Picked it up in Tower on vinyl. One red record one clear. Off the chain.

@Fagan_ODowd Do you listen to Lee Fields?

new Tribe is out.

I listened to the new We Cut Corners album and I think it’s pish. Haven’t listened to a whole pile of Irish albums this year but there’s been a few disappointing ones for me.
