We can allow Fergie to get a couple wrong in 25 years.

Pogba will be at Real next year.

Some 'orse though.

@croppy_boy won’t.

He’ll move heaven and earth to try and argue he got it wrong once in a while.

I never said that. I said Ferguson felt that they couldn’t deal with the player’s agent who wanted the player to move away from Old Trafford.

Ferguson has a history of moving on players with huge talent whom he fears will be trouble. See Ravel Morrison for instance.

All managers make mistakes on players so you have to take the good with the bad. For every Pogba there’s a Giggs or Scholes.

Are they not all the same?

You’re making daft defences on this specific issue with Pogba.

Did Ferguson make a huge fuck up with regard to Pogba? Yes or No?

He had no choice. Unless you’re advocating that he kidnap Pogba and force him to stay at United. Are you advocating that he kidnap an uncontracted player?

Ferguson let him go in a drunken rage.

I asked a yes or no question but I did not get an answer.

The fact is Ferguson let a £100m player leave for nothing without a battle.

You’re either arguing that Ferguson got it badly wrong on Pogba or you’re arguing that Ferguson is the sort of heinous cunt that would do damage to all around him just to settle personal scores.

The truth is probably a little between both those parts but whatever angle you look at it, Ferguson badly fucked up.

No I was stating a fact and you were, once again, throwing your toys out of the pram because things are going against you.

Ferguson could have started Pogba on every hand that season and he still could have left the club. Such was the nature of his contract.

Ferguson could have started Pogba in every game that season and he could have seen what a star he was, he could have then paid him the money he was worth and United would have a world class midfielder on their hands for years.

Instead, he froze him out and lost him for nothing. Are you still arguing Ferguson did not fuck up massively on this one, you doe-eyed simpleton?

Ferguson went to Manchester Airport to intercept Berbatov after a fee had been agreed between Man City and Spurs. Man Utd had agreed no fee yet took him for talks.

And someone things that Ferguson would refuse to deal with a player because of a questionable agent?!!

Ah resort to personal insults when you’re not winning an argument. Classic @Nembo_Kid

What I’m stating outright is that Ferguson did not let Pogba go. Pogba left on a free transfer because he questioned Ferguson’s policy on youth development. This policy had seen players including David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt develop into Champions League winners.

The player got impatient having just turned 19 years of age and chose to leave the club.

That contradicts what you said earlier. You claimed Pogba left because Ferguson refused to deal with his agent.

Pogba left because Ferguson didn’t rate him enough - a few years later he has gone from being get out of the team by the likes of Rafael, Park and finished Scholes and Giggs to be the most expensive player int he world in waiting.

Square these off for me please.

Your contention that Ferguson let a £100m pound player leave for nothing or without a battle on a point of principle due to his demands and his agent’s actions paints him as a grade A idiot. You just can’t seem to bring your self to terms with the ramifications of holding that viewpoint.

Ferguson clearly didn’t think Pogba was all that, he was wrong, he was badly wrong.

Pogba felt he was ready for the first team, Ferguson disagreed. Pogba threw a few strops meaning Ferguson became more entrenched. It was a mistake not tying him into a new contract, the United offer was more than Juventus offered. Ferguson did guarantee him more playing time but I believe Pogba demanded assurances that he would be a starter which Ferguson refused to agree to. He was free to leave as he was out of contract. Ravel Morrisson was the absolute star of the group that won the FA Youth Cup, better than Pogba, Ferguson let him go also .

Ravel Morrison better than Pogba.

:grinning:

At their age group you lunatic.

Ya totally. I converse on and off with various guys across the water be it S&C Coaches, Sport Psycholgists, Football Coaches etc. They are all on the outside working on government schemes or in Uni’s or privately with kids etc. They wouldn’t touch any Football in top 2 divisions is general gist of it. Some would have worked there in the past. These are really really qualified people and the FA doesn’t want them involved. I have an old club mate at Wolves, another at QPR. They say the same. Full of asshole ex players who disregard and often sabotage alot of good work done by Medical &/or preperation staff. From experience i know this to be hugely frustrating. You don’t expect the manager to do everything you suggest, they have their skill and knowledge and art as well and have to put it all together. But when them or assistants are willfully injury players, taking unnecessary risks etc its just not worth it. Money is shot and hours are long. So basically its not attractive at all to the best Scientists. Semi-Pro and Amateur are actually way better. Part time involvement and paid up front.
Getting a Sports Psychologist in is seen as you being weak. Ironically both rugby codes (who are genuinely tougher men) completely embrace Sports Science. But Mental Training really is the last frontier of preperation and the English are behind.
