Well he played in it himself in 2016
Did Donncha Fahy see action in the 2001 All
Ireland Final? Prior to that, the last hurler to have played for St Mary’s Clonmel who featured in an Ireland Final was presumably Limerick’s Mossie Carroll.
He did. Came off the bench that day
He did. He came on as a sub. His defining roles though were in those great series of games between Tipp and Clare in Cork where he was like one of the Spartans at Thermopylae fighting back the alien hordes when all about him had given up the struggle.
Tipperary will walk this.
Nice piece on the news last night from the Urlingford of the South, Carrick-on-Suir about frontier rivalry. Was Waterford’s Mick Roche the last Carrick representative to hurl in an All Ireland Hurling Final?
I’d say so. There was a chap called Ralph Callaghan from Carrick Davins who played in that almighty Munster Final in Thurles in 1984. He might be the last Carrick player to play championship for Tipp. There was a Carrick Swan chap called Tony Watters who ended up hurling for Waterford.
Carrick is a bit weird in that it is a hurling mad town with a ridiculously low representation on Tipp panels
Danny O Hanlon was a great hope at one stage in the noughties
I’m fairly sure Seamus Kennedy also has very strong Waterford links, may even live there
He probably lives on the sunny uplands of the road out to the Nire
What’s the general consensus as regards Fennelly with Tipp lads, Ronan Maher I presume will go on him?
@Pat_Fox has suggested too he will.
Clonmel
Lads the all Ireland final weekend should be a national holiday.

Neither bench look miracle workers. Weather forecast for showers. Advantage KK by a whisker.
I’ve met Ralph a few times over the years. Very nice fellow. He lives next door to a mate of mine on the Co. Waterford side of town now up beside the golf course.
Sweet Jezuz, is that doctored?
he had a savage pair of side burns back in those days
It was showery in 2010 too so that means jack shit. Buckley is working off just one leg so there’s some similarities there too…
I would think so . There are 3 clubs in COS .
