Rugby has grown more in Ireland hurling in the last 20 years.
The gaa are absolute morons if they don’t think this sort of thing won’t have a massive impact in the long run.
Sure rte didn’t even have the rights to show games during lock down bar a handful.

Massive trouble. A lot of parents don’t want kids playing it now. Schools that would have 4 teams no bother in 1st year, twenty years ago, are struggling to field two.

The buzz has gone out of the Champions/Heineken Cup at professional level too. Doesn’t attract the same interest in Ireland at all compared to 15 years ago.

It’s indisputable rugby is more popular than 20 years ago. Why is it more popular ? because they made an effort to grow the game and a load of gaa heads turned their nose up at them for it.
In twenty years the gaa will be in a sorry state in a few years time. Young people nowadays have so many options it’s not even funny.
There is no more ignorant sports association around than the gaa.
Tag rugby is great fun to play. Get a mix of boys and girls which is good fun and you don’t have coach telling you can’t go for a pint because there’s championship in six months time.
Sounds a bit like Tinder.
