I think you need a bit more than working hard and winning a few balls from your captain and one of your main men if youâre to get over the line.
Donât know what he was at out kicking frees in at the end either, needed to be in the square.

Probably the worst result for the medium term health of the football championship.
People will say âoh there was only five points in itâ and âMayo conceded a goal after 30 seconds, it could have been closerâ but the Dubs are streets ahead of everyone.
If they had dished out a 15 point hammering the clamour for change would have been overwhelming. As it is weâll plod along until next July when itâs 7.
And weâll have the same conversation - âTyrone/Kerry/Donegal/Galway/Mayo put it up to them and must just try to work harder.â

I enjoyed that game. Mayo threw the book at Dublin but Dublin steadied at half time and their subs were immeasurably better than Mayos. That Howard lad probably changed the game when he came on. By comparison that Darren Coen kicked away every chance Mayo had of getting back into the game.

Yeah the 2 decisions where the ref failed to dish out black card to Cooper and Fitzsimons were turning points too. Coen took 2 or 3 ridiculous shots when composure was needed. The lack of another consistent scoring threat outside of Cillian Oâ Connor came back to haunt Mayo. Tommy Goals just not there yet anyway.
