It was a classic final until the last 15 minutes. It would have been incredible in front of a crowd.
Iâm tempted to say that there is hope for Mayo. Only for some bad wides they would have been within 3 points of Dublin with 10 minutes to go and then they could have bombed it into the Dublin square and try to get lucky. That is probably how Dublin will eventually lose, before they go and win another 8 or 9 in a row. COC wonât be much of a loss for Mayo and maybe they can find a replacement for Keegan. Mayo were very effective using the mark and should have gone for it more.
But that would be a misjudgement. The truth is that Dublin stopped attacking when they got to 5 points ahead. In the minutes up to that scoreline Mayo had completely collapsed and Dublin were scoring at will. Once Dublin decided to defend, Mayo couldnât score again. Dublin could easily have won by 8 or 9 but they didnât want to do that. Perhaps they were afraid if the backlash from Croke Park.
Mayo are an incredibly exceptional bunch of men. I have huge admiration for them. Keegan is a hateful cunt but heâs a hateful cunt who deserves an All Ireland and he is great to watch. COC can get fucked, heâll be no loss to the game. Dublin are the greatest team of all time by some distance.

If mayo had someone other than cillian oconner who could shoot from more than 30 yards out theyd have had a chance.
They dropped at least 5 or 6 balls short from inside 30 yards. Cycling the ball out against Dublin is like asking them to turn you over.
Mayo were the better team for 55 minutes but if you keep giving a team as clinical as Dublin chance theyâll bury you.
Theyâre a credit to all belonging to them both teams*
*the play acting from some of the Dubs was horrible
