I was at the league semi that year and they beat Waterford . He was outstanding at full forward . The short burst and the wrists were savage . Think he got 5 points from play . Some operator . The hamstrings played havoc with him. If he got a run he would have been a fabulous forward

I played a Clare Cup game against Kilmaley around 2008 where Clancy was around 38 and playing centre forward. The lad marking him was at least 4 inches taller and a lot better conditioned. Clancy caught about 10 balls clean in the air the same day without ever jumping. Man could just read the ball in flight and knew exactly how to leverage himself, was a struggle to even try and break the ball against him
