Sweet point there by him.
What a shot by Darren Homan. Woeful miss and Armagh go up the field and level it 20 seconds later.
A couple of real duffers in this Dublin forward line.
Aidan O’Rourke was a Rolls Royce of a footballer.
Outstanding player but his best years were probably behind him when Kernan took the job.
Never rated Dessie Farrell.
Annoying that they don’t have the score and time up on the screen for this.
Lovely short kick out from Cluxton there.
He really has seen and done it all.
McGeeney was unreal. Forgot how good he was in that game.
A wonderful talisman centre back
Ref did his best for a lucrative draw
Who was the Dublin player who kicked out at the final whistle there?
Did Ray Cosgrove ever really recover from that miss? He was a decent scoring forward up to that point. Think his form rightly fell off after that
Always felt sorry for Ray Cosgrove after that. Scapegoated badly by bandwagon Dublin supporters
Rourke was MOTM for me ( seem to think he got it at game ??? ). He repelled everything & any Dublin player that’s came his way. No nonsense simple effective footballer.
I find it hard what to make of the Dublin team of that vintage.
They had a real soft edge where they would implode when looking good but when you look at it they were never far away despite having no real star quality at that time. They fell over the line against Tyrone in 95 with a few very questionable decisions going their way but that was their only All Ireland for 28 years.
Gilroy added a steel that got them over the line in 2011 and then Gavin had real quality to call in the subsequent years.
Superbly analysed. Succinct, accurate and delightfully insulting.
