Noel Lane should have been sent off there. Is this the game he gets the goal in?
Was there bookings for exaggeration back then?
Tis
Tom Selleck got on a lot of ball in this game.
Ah the difference is unbelievable, a different sport altogether
A good Junior B team from the present day would put it up to either of these teams, that’s how far hurling has come
Noel Lane was a wily operator.
As cute as a shithouse rat
Is the hurley itself the biggest reason for the change in the game? Obviously much easier to control/strike with the wider bas
Pat Malone had a great game, along with Declan Ryan and Keady
And Paul Delaney
Some young lads embarrassing themselves with certain comments here.
Keady owning this
Using a shortened grip, handpassing to a man in a better position more, getting the ball to hand rather than pulling on everything that moves
You can see why a certain something happened
Letting absolute fly on the ball if you didn’t pick it the first time (and in some cases just letting fly first time anyways so you didn’t get a chance to make a hames of it) is the biggest change. Watching a few games back over the last few weeks, the amount of times a lad in an acre of space would just whip an aimless ball up the field was something else.
And the crowd roaring in approval
Pure fear of failure, Lads still being slapped around in school at that stage… Just wanted rid of it.
Conditioning improving the amount of long range scores, that changed the game completely. Here its all about just getting it into the forwards if you get dispossessed in Midfield no major harm done
