All Ireland Gold or now to be known as old matches on d’tele

Joe Cooney was septic. Didn’t click at all

Cost him an All Star. Ciaran Barr got the nod at centre forward in 1988.

Pat Malone had some game. Canning referenced in commentary that Malone had a poor semi final and there were muttering beforehand, he could be dropped. Malone was very underrated and always a big match player.

Lovely striker of a ball, intelligent use of it usually too.

Do they play in Marley Park?

They do indeed

Was thinking that alright, presume they’d be finding it hard to compete with Ballyboden there

Historically yes but they are thriving underage in recent years in both codes. They are a poor senior team in hurling and football but I think they will make strides in the next few years

Think you are being harsh enough on him, caught for the goal alright.

The Dan Breen Cup isn’t won easy

Correct, his dad played football for Galway. It’s confusing as there are more Burkes in Turloughmore than Ryans and Mahers in Tipp.

They should have won it in 2018, were awful against Clonoulty in the final after getting through the much harder side of the draw

Sounds very windy townie that.

It is, which is why it was such a great achievement by Conor O’Donovan to captain them to their only win

A Limerick man put a bit of steel in them

They’ve lost 6/7 I’d wager. @mick_jones might be the man to answer that.

Edit: I just looked back and it’s 6 in my time going to county finals 3 of them by a point and they threw away the 2018 also.

Yes correct. My mistake. Different Gerry Burke. Auld fella corrected me on that this evening. In my defence there’s a particularly huge amount of Burkes around Turloughmore never mind Galway.
