All Ireland Gold or now to be known as old matches on d’tele

Lost 6 out of 7 contested, 3 v Toome, they should’ve won 2005 but John O’Brien went nuts in 2nd half, a wonderful club hurler. Loughmore '13 and Clonoulty '18 were the other 2 that got away, in '13 they knocked out very fancied Sars and Drom teams enroute to final, and '18 were brilliant in semi v Sars. All in the head, lack of know how / cuteness when it’s in the melting pot. Supply line of hurlers never an issue either. As for O’Donovan, he was flat footed and slow, but a very good hurler. And Paul Kennedy, Johnny Heffernan, the Tuckers and Michael Cleary put the steel into them. Over the years they stood up to Toome and later Thurles when the rest of the county hid behind the couch, on their day they can beat anyone, but the reverse is also true

@gilgamboa the last couple of nights I’ve watched the munster sale, munster NZ (08) and munster toulouse. hunrale. Trevor Halstad was a bit of stuff but rua tipoki and Howlett were something else. for his size too Tipoki was simply savage. that 08 game v NZ was the 1st time too I saw Donnacha Ryan play, he had some game.

Tipoki was an absolute lunatic. His Munster spell was best behaved period of his career. He was a brilliant signing. That was a brilliant performance in 08 by a barely 2nd string Munster team

Off topic of tread but ROG gave a great interview with off the ball last week and spoke about playing with tipoki

It was. 2nd string NZ too except for Rockcoko. Paul Warrick too was unreal, Munster should have kept him

They wanted to but he had a child with health issues at the time and whatever it was they were able to get better treatment in France. He didnt get the pay day he deserved in France really. A super player

The two top games there are cracking games. That league final is often forgotten about. Richie Hogan went to wreck on Curran in ET. Sheflin got a sin bin /black card after Paudie Maher on his debut was destroying him for the first 20 mins. Callanan done Brian Hogan early doors also. Can’t wait to rewatch.

Some amount of that New Zealand went on to win a world in cup 2011. I’ll never forgive the IRFU for not allowing a young Keith Earls play for Munster that night.

Fuck sake

That Kerry Galway game was fantastic. The Limerick Kilkenny 2014 of football

Looking forward to re-watching that.

That kk tipp league final was a great game. I must watch that

RTE are some shower of mugs.
