Traditionally there would have been big families around donnycarney that fed into craobh… Big families dont happen anymore… Think a good amount of The team that won championships in late 90s early noughties came from that little estate behind the far goals in parnell…
As someone said you have to admire the way the craobh get the last drop out of a lot of their players and they generally tog out for both hurling and football teams… Discipline on the pitch has always been an issue though…

Only caught the end of it too. What a day that was. Was thinking the same about Barr on Coughlan. Barr set up the last 2 goals. The Offaly management must have never seen it as a mismatch.

He got married the day before the final and moved to Dublin year after. Played for Rossa in 1990 County final but I think he was with Vincent’s from 1991.

I take the attracting players point but very hard for some clubs in the Northside like these to get bigger juvenile numbers given the number of primary schools that feed into them. OTooles are effectively being fed from 1 school so are doing pretty well off that.

O tooles are from sheriff street dublin 1. They are named after st Laurence o toole. They are served by members of dublin 13 and 17 respectively.
O tooles feeder school is st Joseph’s cbs right next to Fairview park Dublin 3.

Also as stated previously I refereed about 20 years ago and the biggest number back then was vinnies followed second by clontarf and Whitehall third.
Back then Celtic tiger eire your stock was greatly advanced by playing for one of the affluent suburbs rather than a renowned club.
Since then clontarf has one senior footballer jack mc Caffrey.
