I think Waterford will win
I hope it’s a good game and get’s the hurling championship off to a flyer, whilst building the anticipation for the main event next weekend in Ibrox
I take Cork to win this comfortably enough. Like last year, I expect the counties who had the advantage of hurling in Division 1B to dominate the provincial championships.
Form in the league goes out the window when it comes to championship
It appears that M Shanahan won’t be togging out anytime soon according to idle talk in West waterford.
Waterford haven’t a hope.
+1.
Indiscipline or something?
The typical South East mentality that has worked so well for years
Has anyone been following Antrim’s progress in the round robin? Probably won’t be a straightforward task for Laois to beat them.
It won’t. I haven’t paid much attention to be honest, once Carlow couldn’t beat London and Laois best Westmeath it was a case of getting to Sundays shootout. Laois have had the upper hand for a few games now between the sides and in the league had it sticky enough for a lot of the game as both teams were employing the sweeper, but pulled away with the goals to win.
Laois haven’t scored many goals in this round Robin and it would continue to be a worry. Cheddars system isn’t really cut out for creating them and relies a lot on accuracy from distance. Naturally I’m hoping for the win and to get Wexford in Portlaoise, I’ll meet you on the terrace pal.
No loss.
No loss.
Antrim will get destroyed if Laois are any way right, some proper ruptions up there this year, just like every other
What’s the deal with McGrath? He’s very highly rated as a coach from what I’ve heard, but it doesn’t sound like preparation has gone at all well this year.
Doesn’t really have to do with him though does it? Transition can be funny.
Waterford were used to over the top management team for a few years with Davy, then it seemed to go the other way completely with the last lad and now they probably have someone in the middle with a heap if new players as well. Harmony in Waterford is not always easy anyway as they fucking murder each other in club championship.
If he is also developing a new style, I’m not sure of this however, then this adds to even more of a build.
If they were over trained physically last year and year before as suggested then they may still be recovering from that or some of the results of that may only be appearing now
A lot of injuries are long term overuse injuries that are hard to detect and players largely ignore in fear of losing training time.
I heard something about him recently but as the source was unreliable, I didn’t pay much attention
I’ll let Fagan handle this one if he wants to comment.

Couple of them looked to be carrying timber for lads who were “overtrained”*
*this is merely an opinion from a dodgy tg4 camera (ebay purchase probably) angle from the back of the top tier.
Was this source a KK man?
