All Ireland Hurling Championship 2018

7 debutants apparently.

Jackie thinks Dublin don’t have a hope.

Not a fucking hope. Sutcliffe is one of the best players in Ireland though.

He was alright. He more or less retired poor Tommy Walsh! Gone a long time now though.

It seems to be set up for Dublin but they were so awful last year they really do have a long way to come.

He’s still got it.

Delaney, Morrissey, Keoghan, Donnelly, Sheehan; who else?

Leahy definitely played against Waterford last year; has Maher not played any Championship hurling over the years?

First starts for Maher and Leahy I think

Maybe 7 making first starts? Enda McEvoy mentioned 7 in a tweet.

Do you enjoy Enda’s tweets?

Skehill on goal for Galway. Is Callinan injured? Otherwise same team as All-Ireland bar a chap call Concannon corner forward.

Cornelius Cannon, a great name.

It seems like Dublin are set up to play Moran as a sweeper with O’ Donnell to follow Reid. Their backs are okay but you’d worry about Walter Walsh on O’ Callahan. O’ Carroll is a surprising starter as he was cleaned in a good few league games. It leaves them with Rushe and Paul Ryan as possibly the slowest 2 man FF at inter county. They will need big games from Sutcliffe, Keaney, McBride and Whitely. To win they need about a 12 pt return from play from those lads to have any chance of winning.

Kk finally seem to have a handle on the sweeper system this year. They counteracted it well with Buckley and Deegan alternating as the spare man. Both have previously played midfield at this level and are comfortable carrying ball forward and confident enough to use it well in one two’s. Eoin Murphy is integral to this with his accurate short to mid range puck outs.

Parnell park is tight and will suit the game Dublin want to play. However if KK get their noses in front early doors I can see them beat the spread. I also fancy Crummy to get a few points so I’ll be punting on him over 0.5 and 1.5.

Is Eamonn Dillon injured ???

Must be if he ain’t starting. Didn’t play much of the league either. They’d need him with his pace however he often seems to threaten more than he delivers on the scoreboard. A bit like Cadogan in Cork.

He got a dead leg at the start of the league and is still out with it. He is a big loss as he has plenty of pace which is something we don’t have much of in the forward line

You’re spot on here. I can’t believe O Carroll is starting

Kk by seven.

If Kilkenny end up overachieving this year you can point to the Clare league game as the one where something noticeably changed. 2-7 0-2 down at home after 20 minutes. Take off Ollie Walsh, Richie Reid and Joe Lyng before HT. Bring on Morrissey, Keoghan and Pat Lyng. The three lads taken off not in 26 for Dublin. Three lads brought on two start against Dublin, one on bench(wouldn’t have been surprised if he did start). Lost by a goal in the end that day but were far better after their introduction in that game and every game since then.
