All-Ireland Hurling Championship 2019 II*** Up Laois

Boyles are some idiots. Being big men making a big stand going 11/4 Wexford when everyone else is 2/1 and all they’ve to do is go 9/4 to be top price on them and gather all the money for whoever wants to back them. That price won’t last until Tuesday. They won’t lay two bananas to a banana anyway. I’ll put on a few bob on that if the price holds at 11/4 while i’m passing one of their “bookie shops” as that is plain wrong.

Sheedy and Paraic Maher love to party too

He got 1-1 but broke a load of ball. Probably set up 1-2 directly off breaks and won a couple of frees as well.

Bookies taking a position is to be admired. It’s their saturation pricing that has them so fucked on course

The bookies on course will lay a bet.

They enjoyed the Leinster victory for a week didn’t they and rightly so? Homecoming and all that? I just think that could have been Wexford’s All Ireland final so to speak for this year. I would love to be wrong and for ourselves and yerselves to both advance and make it a repeat of 96. The build up would be box office with Davy talking shite in the media and so on.

There’d be some go for tickets if it was Wexford v limerick in the final

I was only saying it earlier to a buddy. Be some scramble for tickets.

The handful left haven’t much choice I suppose

You’re missing my point. I find it laughable Boyles making this grandiose statement going much bigger than their competitors when the same outfit are weak as water and won’t lay a bob worth talking about. You wait and see how long the price lasts, i’d say by Tuesday it’ll be gone. Agree with your point about price copying in general but that’s a different point to the one at hand.

Would there be any more of a scramble than if it’s Limerick v Tipp? Don’t think so.

There would be much more demand.

I think Tipp’s collective hurling skill combined with two weeks to prepare SHOULD enable them to overcome our system.

Unfortunately I can foresee Maher x3 giving them a solid platform. The likes of Barrett has pace and is an excellent man marker.

If we’re 5 v 6 up there, the worst case scenario is their defensive unit shutting us down sufficiently and then having the composure to play it out from the back.

The ball going through a couple of pairs of hands in their half and then Noel McGrath having the vision and class to play pinpoint passes like he did for Callanan’s goal today, and making our sweeper a non-factor in the process.

They would beat us by something like 2-24 to 1-19 in such a scenario. We’ll need to unleash some kind of controlled fury on them.

If it’s Limerick v Wexford it’ll be every man for himself to get tickets. A complete bloodbath.

Limerick v Tipp - not as bad and you’d get one on the day.

If Kilkenny are in it people will end up with spares.

I have you but the issue then isn’t really the price as much as it is marketing. The very fact you got annoyed by it and commenting means they are succeeding. Boyles marketing dept got a serious whipping I’d imagine after all the ‘accidental’ fixtures, not to mention prices, PP were getting coverage for over the last number of weeks.

Although we have the comfort blanket of the 7th defender in theory, Liam Ryan is often left fairly isolated at the back. I thought he held up admirably against Fennelly in our 2 games against Kilkenny (shaky Leinster Final first half). He’ll need to play very well on Callanan for us to have a chance.

I only know they are 11/4 due to oddschecker. Are you saying i know because their marketing is succeeding which is how i know? Also what you mean their marketing department got a whipping because of all the “accidental” matches of the past few weeks? You mean like Powers getting publicity for putting out Dublin v Tipp odds when Dubs hadn’t got over Laois yet?

Pretty sure Limerick were favourites for the Munster Final.

The thing with Kilkenny is you’ve to only mind fennelly really.

With Tipp you’ve to mind Seamus, Forde and John McGrath
