I really can’t understand why people were hyping up Cork to win today and go further. They’ve three good quality forwards, a good midfielder and dodgy backs. They caught Limerick cold on Limerick’s first day out, were well bate by Tipp and lost to a poor Clare side.

Darragh Fitzgibbon must really regret declaring for Cork now and not his own county.

Mind you he probably made the right decision, with the likes of Cian Lynch, Darragh O’Donovan, Will O’Donoghue, Malachy, Paul Browne and Robbie Hanley all ahead of him in the pecking order.

He’ll get plenty of game time with a team like Cork. And good luck to him.

Cork are a decent team but their defense is poor enough . Not 1 of the current defense would make the 2003 to 2005 team . There are a couple of poor players there too and their forwards workrate today was a disgrace.

I assume we will hear a bit in the next few weeks about possible discontent .

The defense is shit but the forwards are a huge issue in that their workrate is woeful and they play too much as individuals rather than a cohesive unit. Tipp would have buried the goal chances that cork passed up today.
